ALBENDAZOLE 10% – BROAD SPECTRUM ANTHELMINTIC ORAL SUSPENSION

Albendazole is a broad‑spectrum anthelmintic belonging to the group of benzimidazoles and is indicated for prophylaxis and treatment of infections with a broad range of worms in calves, cattle, goats and sheep and at higher dosage level also against adult stages of liver-fluke.

Description

Composition:

Each ml suspension contains 100 mg albendazole.

Indications:

Albendazole is a broad‑spectrum anthelmintic belonging to the group of benzimidazoles and is indicated for prophylaxis and treatment of infections with a broad range of worms in calves, cattle, goats and sheep and at higher dosage level also against adult stages of liver-fluke.

Activity:

Gastro‑intestinal worms: Bunostomum, Larval and adult stages of Haemonchus, Ostertagia, Chabertia, Trichonstrongylus, Nematodirus, Cooperia, adult stages of Oesophagostomum, Chabertia and Strongyloides.

Lung‑worms: Dictyocaulus viviparous and D. filaria.

Tape‑worms: Moniezia (adults).

Trematodes: Fasciola Hepatica (adult liver fluke).

Dosage and Administration:  For oral administration only.

Calves and Cattle: 1 ml per 12 kg body weight.

For adult liver flukes 1 ml per 10 kg body weight.

Sheepgoats: 1 ml per 20 kg body weight.

For adult liver flukes 1 ml per 12 kg body weight.

Recommendations and Warnings:

Do not administer to ewes and cows during early pregnancy (first 45 days) and do not use in lactating animals whose milk is to be used for human consumption. No side-effects are reported when used at therapeutic doses. Shake well before use.

Withdrawal time: 12 days before slaughter. 4 days for milk.

Storage: Keep closed in a cool and dry place, away from sunlight and safe from children.
